Just do it, babes. You got this. (Good grades)

Heyy!! How are you? (Answer through the comment section) I'm doing great so far, I mean ever since I started this blog I feel very organized with my thoughts (I'm a BIG yapper πŸ˜πŸ™). I just wanted to share some advice as a girly at school who has good grades, a good social life, with a good self-care routine all at once. I managed to achieve those by learning how to balance my time. But since it'll be too long too fit in one blog, our first topic is Good grades. Here are some tips & advices!!

Good grades

  1. Do your homework the same day you recieve it.
I'm gonna be honest, I also had trouble balancing the triangle (Triangle = good grades, a good social life, and good self-care). My grades started to drop a bit because I focused too much on just one thing...My social life. I did my assignments 2-3 days after they were published, which made my to-do list harder to manage since it kept stacking up with more assignments each day. Eventually, I had almost 11 missing assignments. For some people, that might not seem like much, but for me, it was frustrating because I’m usually disciplined when it comes to my grades. Seeing all those missing assignments made me stressed, especially since I knew I could get a deduction for late submissions. So, I tried to finish everything in one day, knowing more would just pile up the next day. That didn’t end well...Because I stayed up really late and had to wake up at 6 AM to get ready for school. So, from my experience, here’s my advice: balance it out, and don’t wait until it’s too late.

      2.  Time management (fix ur sched babe)

I’m not trying to flex (jk, I am kinda flexing), but I’ve been part of the student council for 4 years. It’s either as president or vice president and if I’m being real... it’s super tiring. You might think balancing student council and good grades is hard, but it’s actually all about time management. I make a schedule for my day, and no, I don’t write it down or use an app. I do it mentally.

I get back from school at 3:30 PM, take 30 minutes to eat, 2 hours to finish my assignments, a 40-minute break for leisure time, a 20-minute shower (if you take less than 10 minutes... maybe try lengthening your shower...), a 7-minute workout, 20 minutes to journal, 10 minutes for skincare, and I start winding down when the clock hits 8:00 PM. By 8:00 PM, I’ve finished everything for the day and go to bed feeling relaxed.

     3. Get more active in school

Yo, you gotta stop being shy. Join clubs, raise your hand in class, answer questions, get involved in helping with events, help people who are struggling with something you're good at, and be a disciplined student. Some people (aka my people, like my classmates) might call you a "goody-two-shoes" or a "teacher's pet," but their critical comments are the least of your problems πŸ™‰. It’ll all be worth it for your future. The extracurricular activities could help with your resume and make it a bit easier to find a job.

    4. Focus, Focus, Focus.

Just focus during class, and you'll be fine. Try eating a meal before class starts to energize your body and save yourself from the embarrassment of your stomach grumbling during a quiet moment πŸ‘». Also, try going to bed earlier. Start disciplining yourself to sleep between 8 and 10 PM; the earlier, the better. Take notes during class too, and aim to study for at least an hour every day. It not only helps you understand the lesson better but also prepares you for tests, which leads to better grades. Oh, and drink water it really helps with focusing (and clear skin~).

5. Put your phone in another room when you're trying to focus

No, putting your phone on DND won’t help. Well... if you’re really sure of yourself, you can try that, but let’s be fr rn...It’s way too tempting to check it. I highly recommend putting your phone in another room when you’re trying to do homework, study, or just focus overall. And here’s the deal: don’t go back to the room where your phone is until you’ve finished what you’re supposed to be doing.

If you’re the type who’ll make excuses like, “I just need to check one thing,” then this step is even more important for you. Once you start scrolling, it's gonna be hard to stop it. You'll start to lose track of time and before you know it the day is almost over and you haven't finished anything cause you were on your phone. Trust me, your TikTok, insta, snap, etc... isn’t going anywhere (Well, kinda tiktok since it's getting removed 😬). Bro go grab water, set up your workspace, and have everything you need ready before you start. That way, you’ll have no excuse to leave your desk.

It’s all about building discipline. At first, it’s tough, but over time, you’ll realize how much more productive you can be when your phone isn’t distracting you. And once you finish your work, then you can go back to your phone guilt-free.

Extra tip: If you feel too lazy to start an assignment, try working on it for just 5 minutes. You’ll start forgetting that you were ever tired in the first place, and before you know it, you’re halfway done.

Extra-Extra tip: Celebrate the tiny achievements, but also know that you should always aim for better. For example, if you got a B on your test, go ahead and celebrate! But remember, it’s not the best score, and you can always try again and aim for an A.

That’s all for my tips! Let me know if you want more because I’ve got loads to share. And remember, don’t be too hard on yourself. There’s nothing you’ll gain from that but negativity. Be kind to yourself, take things one step at a time, and trust the process. Progress isn’t always instant, but it’s always worth it. You’ve got this!
